What It Is
Nostrito is a Nostr client built around one idea: your social network should be yours. Not an algorithm's version of it. Not a feed optimized for engagement. Just the people you actually care about and the things they're actually saying.
Why Another Nostr Client
Most social media clients — even the decentralized ones — still default to the same patterns: infinite scroll, trending content, global feeds full of strangers. They've decentralized the protocol but kept the attention-capture playbook.
Nostrito takes a different approach. It's designed around your personal social graph. The people you follow, the conversations you're in, the communities you've chosen. That's it. No algorithmic curation, no promoted content, no engagement tricks.
The Incentive Problem
Every social platform has an incentive model. Traditional ones optimize for time-on-app because that's how they sell ads. Even ad-free platforms often optimize for growth metrics because that's what investors want.
Nostrito doesn't have investors. It doesn't have ads. It doesn't have a growth target. The only metric that matters is whether the people using it feel like their social experience got better. When the incentives are aligned, the design follows.
How It Works
Nostrito connects to the Nostr network — a decentralized protocol where your identity is a cryptographic key pair and your data lives on relays you choose. Your posts, messages, and social graph are portable. If you don't like Nostrito tomorrow, take everything and leave. No export, no API, no permission needed.
What I'm Building Toward
A social experience that respects the Dunbar layers — intimate contacts, close friends, broader community — rather than flattening everyone into one infinite feed. Social software that makes you feel more connected, not more drained.
